Hi Juggies!
This is GatorJUG. I'm taking a break down here in the Swamp until January. There are lots of things I want to do: get some sun, eat some frogs, and do some quality basking. So, I hope you all have a happy holiday season. Please spread the word about GatorJUG so next year will be a chompin' good year for all of us. And, stay tuned to Codetown for updates on the next meeting.
Meanwhile, don't forget you have GatorJUG Town in which to exchange info.
All the best!
Codetown is a social network. It's got blogs, forums, groups, personal pages and more! You might think of Codetown as a funky camper van with lots of compartments for your stuff and a great multimedia system, too! Best of all, Codetown has room for all of your friends.

By Daniel DominguezIn this podcast, Shane Hastie, Lead Editor for Culture & Methods, spoke to Emerson Murphy-Hill about how measuring developer productivity is tricky, why team dynamics and psychological safety matter more than things like meeting load, the impact of systemic bias and how new AI tools are shaping equity in engineering - sometimes helping, but sometimes risking new kinds of unfairness.
By Emerson Murphy-HillLearn how to design resilient event-driven systems that scale. Explore key patterns like shuffle sharding and decoupling queues to handle load spikes and failures. Understand common pitfalls like over-relying on retries and neglecting observability for robust, scalable architectures.
