Coincidently, I was reading an article about "Startup Weekend" when I received the email from Mike about demo city.

I would think Orlando would be a great venue for hosting a "Startup Weekend".  Seems like a great matchup for Orlando Jug/Codetown to host something like Startup Weekend, bringing together the "ideas" people with the developers needed to make it happen.

Would anyone else be interested in participating ?

Hey, Tom - thanks for the heads up! I bet a good way to judge interest level in an event like this would be to do some P/R at the upcoming Barcamp. We're interested in high tech startups, mainly and there will be a great turnout at Barcamp to get feedback. /Mike PS - thinking about it! I think it's a great idea.
I would be interested in a startup weekend

I would definitely participate, most likely as a developer.

As a side note, we don't need VCs or Media Partners to organize a hackathon. A project and a room full of eager programmers are more than sufficient.
I would be interested in Startup CIty in Orlando.  We have plenty of dev resources and few startups or startup mentallity.  How do we help?

What Testers Can Do to Ensure Software Security

A secure software development life cycle means baking security into plan, design, build, test, and maintenance, rather than sprinkling it on at the end, Sara Martinez said in her talk Ensuring Software Security. Testers aren’t bug finders but early defenders, building security and quality in from the first sprint. Culture first, automation second, continuous testing and monitoring all the way.
