Planning for the Next Round

For those who’s goal is to lose more than 34 pounds, it is of utmost importance to know that you cannot do this in just one round. You must have a second, third, or more courses. The rule of the thumb is that an single HCG round should be concluded when you have already lost 34 pounds, or have already had 40 injections, whichever comes first.

HCG may cause immunity and this would usually manifests through hunger which was previously non-existent. According to Dr. Simeons, the onset of this immunity is usually observed after about 40 injections which is why this is the maximum number of injections you can have in a single round. There are, however, some uncommon cases wherein a person’s immunity develops before the full course of 40 injections. In theses cases, the HCG diet must be stopped immediately. Any loses that you had during the period when you are immune to the HCG will just be regained.

Therefore, when you have noticed a sign of immunity or when you reach your 40th injection, stop for AT LEAST SIX WEEKS before proceeding to your next round. This is the amount of time it takes for the body’s immunity to HCG to wear off, which will then make the HCG fully effective again.

The interval may exceed six weeks, but not less. And as you do more rounds, the interval between courses, becomes longer progressively. You may follow the guide below.

Interval between:

1st round to 2nd round –> 6 weeks

2nd round to 3rd round –> 8 weeks

3rd round to 4th round –> 12 weeks

4th round to 5th round –> 20 weeks

5th round to 6th round –> 24 weeks or six months

Importance of Daily Weighing

One of the basic principle that is extremely essential, and must not be disregarded even after doing the protocol, is Daily Weighing.

This should be continued when maintaining your weight so that you could  immediately remedy any increase. It would be a mistake to rely on how your clothes fit you in determining whether or not you have gained weight because after going through a course of HCG, you could regain as much as 10 pounds without noticing any change on how your clothes fit. This is because newly acquired fat gets distributed evenly throughout the body and therefore will not cause any drastic visible changes.

So keep that habit of doing your daily weigh-ins to prevent those fats from creeping silently back in. =)

How to do P4 Right and Avoid Relapses

After three weeks of Phase 3 wherein you were allowed to increase your calorie intake and was given more freedom in food choices except sugars and starches, here comes Phase 4 wherein you start introducing more food without any restrictions. (You are, however, still advised to continue a habit of healthy eating.) This is the start of your MAINTENANCE PHASE.

During Phase 4, sugars and starches are now allowed. You should introduce this back to your diet gradually. As much as possible, start reintroducing foods one at a time. This way, you will be able to observe and determine if that specific food is a weight gain trigger for you. Different people have different food triggers so you will not be able to rely purely on their experiences for this Phase. It is essential that you do not skip this step because this would aid you in maintaining your weight long-term.

If a certain food that you reintroduced to your body causes you to feel bloated, gain weight, or crave for more, it would be wise to avoid that food or consume it infrequently.

Make wise decisions when choosing your food and always eat in moderation.

Best of luck in maintaining your loses!.. =)
