Bio

Curtis McMillen is a Development Supervisor at Infinite Energy, Inc. in Gainesville, FL. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida and has over 5 years of experience developing Java EE based web applications. In addition to all things Java, he enjoys project automation and playing billiards.

Abstract

CDI: The new new()

Okay so new() hasn't actually gone anywhere, but I did get your attention right? With Contexts and Dependency Injection (CDI) you can still use new() but why would you want to? And what's so great about CDI, besides the DI? All patterned out and tired of FooFactory and BarObserver? Put the PowerPoint down and see answers to these questions and many more developed live using actual Java code.

Come join us as we dig deep into the Java Enterprise version 6 and dependency injection. Please pass the word and bring a friend.

Come hungry, podnuh's...we'll have lots of pizza and drinks, courtesy of Mark Kilby and Rally Software, our sponsor. Thanks, Mark!
