This course provides students with the knowledge needed to use Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5 and 6 (Java EE 5 and 6 platforms) best practices and patterns to design and architect robust enterprise applications that allow for rapid change and growth. The students will gain an understanding of the latest Java EE 5 and 6 technology patterns and how they help solve important and recurring design problems. They will also learn how service-oriented architectures (SOAs), implemented in a wide range of technologies (including REST, RPC, RMI, DCOM, CORBA, and Web services), help businesses respond more quickly and cost-effectively to changing market conditions. The course also covers Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) ? based on the Java Business Integration (JBI) specification ? which helps automate, manage, and optimize business processes and workflows across systems, people, and partners and helps build robust cloud computing applications. The students will
also learn best practices for preparing for Java Enterprise Architecture certification.

Docker has launched Kanvas, a new platform designed to bridge the gap between local development and cloud production. By automating the conversion of Docker Compose files into Kubernetes artefacts, the tool challenges established solutions like Helm and Kustomize. Developed with Layer5, it marks a shift toward Infrastructure as Code, offering visualisations to simplify cloud-native deployments.
