BarCamp Orlando is an annual community-building event which aims to bring people from different backgrounds together for cooperative learning. Technologies such as Ruby, PHP, Java and C will be present alongside graphic design, music, photography, and other new media. We hope to provide free t-shirts and lunch to all attendees, but can only do so with assistance from sponsors.
The First Rule of BarCamp
It is strongly recommended that attendees give a demo, a session, or help with one. Don't be intimidated by this, just pick something you're passionate about and come give a talk on it. It could be anything... an operating system you use, a language you program with, or how to wash your cat. We have four speaking rooms at our venue, and a projector will be available at all but one.
Talks will be scheduled on the day of the event (that's part of the fun). We'll build a speaker schedule on a whiteboard starting at 9:30 am. Come early if you want to guarantee a speaking spot!
Location
For the first time, BarCamp will take place in the heart of downtown Orlando's tech scene at The Plaza. We'll have four areas available for presentations in the north tower: Voxeo's 10th floor common area, and three in the 20th floor space that will soon be home to Envy Labs andCode School. Lunch will be served at TBA, and plenty of open space will be available to hang out and mingle.
Codetown is a social network. It's got blogs, forums, groups, personal pages and more! You might think of Codetown as a funky camper van with lots of compartments for your stuff and a great multimedia system, too! Best of all, Codetown has room for all of your friends.

Cloudflare has released Sandboxes and Containers into general availability, providing persistent isolated Linux environments for AI agent workloads. New capabilities include secure credential injection via egress proxy, PTY terminal support, persistent code interpreters, filesystem watching, and snapshot-based session recovery. Active CPU pricing charges only for used cycles.

Sovereign fault domains are failure boundaries defined by legal, political, or physical jurisdiction rather than hardware topology. The article maps geopolitical events to known distributed-systems failure modes, argues multi-region should replace multi-AZ as the HA baseline for systems crossing jurisdictions, and outlines design patterns, chaos experiments, and an ALE model to justify the spend.

pnpm 11 RC has been released, featuring significant changes in performance, security, and configuration. Key updates include an SQLite-backed store index, tighter security defaults, and a consolidated build script setting. It now requires Node.js v22 or later. Global installs are isolated by default, and new commands enhance usability. Migration guidance is available in the documentation.
