Hearing about the value of a technology I've never used before is good. Learning how to use it during the meeting, if only at a beginning level, is much better. I think the Flex meeting was probably like that, and I wish I could have gone - I'm enjoying the link on that meeting page: http://www.firststepsinflex.com/

I also like to hear about the experiences of other developers. I would love to hear someone talk about something they built recently: how long did it take to build, what were the hardest parts and why, mistakes made, lessons learned...

Some specific technologies I would like to learn more about: Flex, jQuery, Lucene, Terracotta, Clojure, Amazon Web Services, Hadoop, Scala Lift, new features in Java7.
Cool. I think we can cover many of those this year. Maybe we'll have another Flex Jam if there's enough interst. Or, another language. Meanwhile, I hope we'll have some good input at the January GatorJUG meeting on iPhone development.

He then explains vLLM inference optimization (paged attention, quantization) and uses Mistral's Pixtral to detail multimodal large language model architecture.
