Codetown ::: a software developer's community
Hearing about the value of a technology I've never used before is good. Learning how to use it during the meeting, if only at a beginning level, is much better. I think the Flex meeting was probably like that, and I wish I could have gone - I'm enjoying the link on that meeting page: http://www.firststepsinflex.com/
I also like to hear about the experiences of other developers. I would love to hear someone talk about something they built recently: how long did it take to build, what were the hardest parts and why, mistakes made, lessons learned...
Some specific technologies I would like to learn more about: Flex, jQuery, Lucene, Terracotta, Clojure, Amazon Web Services, Hadoop, Scala Lift, new features in Java7.
Codetown is a social network. It's got blogs, forums, groups, personal pages and more! You might think of Codetown as a funky camper van with lots of compartments for your stuff and a great multimedia system, too! Best of all, Codetown has room for all of your friends.
