Hey, guys: Don't forget tonite is the February GatorJUG Meeting. Please RSVP here if you intend to come so we'll know how much pizza and drinks to order. Here's the info:

"Rule number one about the Fight Club is you don't talk about the Fight Club"
Remember that? Fight Club, in case you didn't see the movie, was about a secret fighting gathering where you learned not just about how to fight, but also about life and camaraderie. But, you kept it to yourself. Secret.

GatorJUG is the exact opposite. In a world of trade secrets and copyright in the name of profit, GatorJUG shares all info and helps you to be successful in the computing world. Tonight we'll talk about working as a developer as an employee, contractor and consultant. We'll also talk about owning your own business, no holds barred.

Come visit with other programmers, listen to Michael Levin. Mike's an experienced programmer, small business owner and computer consultant. He will speak about owning a small business and how to run a computer consulting company. Mike will also talk about what skills are hot now and what he thinks will be the hot technologies of the future. His company’s website is www.cambridgeweb.ie. Cambridge Web Design provides custom software development and professional services in the USA and internationally. Cambridge has been in business "working software developers" over 15 years.

Mike was honored with the Java Champion designation last year.

Here's a little about Mike in this O'Reilly OnJava article.

Mike has assisted other developers over the years and has inspired and assisted both professional technical development and the formation of other software groups, including the Orlando Ruby User Group, the Sarasota Java User Group, the CongoJUG and the West African JUG, which he co-chairs.

For example, people from Mike's software groups have gone on to work at places like Google in Silicon Valley. Success!

Hosted by Gainesville’s Java User Group, GatorJUG. Please RSVP here at Codetown, a social network for software developers, so we'll know how much pizza to order.

Note: You must join Codetown to enable the RSVP feature.

The meeting will be held at Santa Fe College in room S-317 Feb 13th, from 6:30 till 9:00 PM. It is on the third floor of the S building next to the book store.

It's no secret: sharing info is the key to success. Come to GatorJUG tonight, learn and pat yourself on the back for going the extra mile. You won't regret it. Plus, the pizza's hot and the drinks are ice cold.
