Nem, Very nice! I have bookmarked the Grails web app. Do you have any comments regarding how development went? Any lessons learned to tell?
Nem, This would be a great case study for GatorJUG. Let's talk! /mike
I'm just about to reserve a venue for 12 months of 2013 on the second Wed of each month! <hint>Call for speakers...</hint>
That sounds good, Nem. Thanks. Of the three, the Grails app would be first case study choice, the Android app second and the Atmosphere app third. That is, unless you'd like to talk about them as 2 case studies: the Grails/Android G'Ville Events apps and the Atmosphere app. We get the best turnout with more standard presentations these days, rather than very unique topics.
The next GatorJUG meeting is Wed, January 9th.

I'd be glad to talk about my projects. I have another project that i think would be very interesting to talk about. It is another Grails project that uses atmosphere https://github.com/Atmosphere/
Perfect. If you give me a bio and abstract, I'll do the rest. Second Wed of Jan is 1/9.
Codetown is a social network. It's got blogs, forums, groups, personal pages and more! You might think of Codetown as a funky camper van with lots of compartments for your stuff and a great multimedia system, too! Best of all, Codetown has room for all of your friends.

Bun creator Jarred Sumner recently announced that Bun, the JavaScript/TypeScript runtime, bundler and package manager has been rewritten from Zig to Rust. The rewrite seeks to eliminate recurrent memory safety vulnerabilities via Rust’s borrow checker. The AI-assisted rewrite was released after 4 months of work instead of the estimated one year.

Alibaba recently open-sourced OpenCodeReview, an AI-powered code review CLI that combines deterministic pipelines for file selection, bundling, and rule matching with an LLM agent for dynamic code analysis. It supports built-in checks for issues such as null-pointer exceptions, thread safety, XSS, and SQL injection.

Google has released the Agent Development Kit (ADK) for Kotlin 1.0, a production-ready framework for building AI agents across Kotlin, Android, and JVM/server applications. It brings Kotlin to feature parity with Google's ADK for Python and Java, while adding Android-specific capabilities for on-device and hybrid AI.

Cloudflare has replaced its static X25519 guess for origin TLS handshakes with per-origin measurement. HelloRetryRequests on scanned origins fell from roughly 52% to 3.7%, removing over 150 ms from p90 latency. Post-quantum connections completing in one round trip rose from 0% to 99.2%, though only 12.8% of origins support it.

Ajay Prakash discusses how LinkedIn overcomes AI agent limitations in large codebases. He explains Contextual Agent Playbooks and Tools - built on Model Context Protocol (MCP) - which serves procedural memory, code search, and runbooks directly to coding agents. Prakash shares architectural details and operational guardrails that deliver a 20% productivity boost with zero loss in reliability.
