Event Description

Spirits, Ski & Java

from Jan 12th to 16th, 2018

jSpirit is a new Java unconference in the Bavarian alps. Starting in Winter 2018, we’re down for Spirits, Ski & JAVA. How does that sound do you?

Spirits

jSpirit is the first Java (un)conference ever being held in a distillery (at least to our knowledge). And it’s not just any distillery – it’s Europe’s most modern distillery: Lantenhammer Erlebnisdestillerie Hausham!

By the way: we are renting the entire distillery: lunch will be served in the main storage depot between all the whisky, gin, rum and schnapps barrels. And we can hold sessions everywhere, even right by the stills!

MySQL 9.6 Changes Foreign Key Constraints and Cascade Handling

MySQL is changing the way foreign key constraints and cascades are managed. Starting with MySQL 9.6, foreign key validation and cascade actions are handled by the SQL layer rather than the InnoDB storage engine. This will improve change tracking, replication accuracy, and data consistency, making MySQL more reliable for CDC pipelines, mixed-database environments, and analytics workloads.

Presentation: Platforms for Secure API Connectivity With Architecture as Code

Jim Gough discusses the transition from accidental architect to API program leader, explaining how to manage the complexity of secure API connectivity. He shares the Common Architecture Language Model (CALM), a framework designed to bridge the developer-security gap.
