Event Description

The 2010 University of Florida Information Security Awareness Day (ITSA Day) is packed with powerhouse speakers from Damballa, InGuardians, Secure Ideas, GFI Software, and Verizon Business. This year we are proud to host this event in conjunction with Free Your PC hosted by the Florida Free Culture.

ITSA Day is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

ITSA Day will be held Wednesday, October 27, in the Reitz Union Auditorium on the UF campus. The event is sponsored by the University of Florida Office of the Chief Information Officer and will be hosted by the Office of Information Security and Compliance.

As always, we have an impressive lineup of speakers for the day. They include:

* Brian Jack - GFI Software, Formerly Sunbelt Software
* Kevin Johnson - Secure Ideas
* Jerry McCarthy - Verizon Business
* To Be Announced - InGuardians, Inc.

Topics will include current trends in cyberwarfare, web client attacks; virtual environment security and more!

ITSA Day is targeted at professional IT workers in education, law enforcement, state and local government, and business. It is a great opportunity to learn more about relevant security topics and network with other IT professionals from the UF, the local community and around the state.

Florida Free Culture will be hosting Free Your PC on the same day from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on the Reitz Union

Colonnade. If you're not familiar with the event, they offer free McAfee anti-virus to anyone affiliated with the university. They also install Firefox and Thunderbird, and offer a plethora of other open source software (Open Office, Pidgin, GIMP, etc.).
