Hi Pavel and welcome to Codetown! I like your profile picture. Are you aware of the great vJug sessions coming up? One in about a week is a discussion of Josh Bloch's Effective Java. It's on the Safari Bookshelf! So, if you sign up for a free trial, you'll have just enough time to read the first 100 pages for the first meeting. All the best, Michael

PS - Here's the invitation from Simon:

    Hey folks,

Rather than spam you all with 3 meetup events being announced, I thought I'd do this meetup announcement manually via e-mail containing all 3 sessions.

To RSVP to the book club sessions follow these links and click RSVP!

May 26th Book Reading Club: "Effective Java" by Josh Bloch - Part 1

June 16th Book Reading Club: "Effective Java" by Josh Bloch - Part 2

July 7th Book Reading Club: "Effective Java" by Josh Bloch - Part 3

To participate in each of the sessions you'll need to read around 100 pages of the book for each meetup, which will be discussed as a group. Note we'll be inviting you to join the hangout and participate with us for the book club, so be prepared! All sessions will be recorded as usual, so if you can't make a particular session (or any of them) you can still be part of it via replays.

If you haven't bought the book yet, you still have time! Here are some links with discount codes:
