OS Town

Operating systems are like religions. At this stage, people have spent entire careers with one or another. But, now we have multiple choices and write once, run anywhere languages. So, what's your pleasure? Welcome to OS Town...

Which OS do you use to develop Java?

Since I'm a *nix geek, I've used Linux (multiple versions thereof), OpenBSD, and UCF's Sun Solaris systems. I also used M$ XP back in the 1.4.2 days.

The one thing I remember being somewhat frustrating was the appearance of a GUI using flow layout. It would look great on my old Redhat Linux system, but then when I booted into XP everything was off (I had the same version of Java running on both, on the same computer). Other than that though Java seems to be great for cross-platform development :).
