SUMMARY:Sarasota JUG: Easy Ajax with jQuery (and Grails)
DESCRIPTION:Ajax is a set of technologies that allow the creation of m
 ore interactive web applications, or what is currently referred to as 
 Rich Internet Applications (RIA).\n\njQuery is a popular JavaScript to
 olkit providing easy DOM element selection and manipulation, effects, 
 and Ajax communication.\n\nThis presentation will examine ways to appl
 y Ajax techniques to a web application in order to make it more intera
 ctive and responsive. The jQuery JavaScript library will be used to si
 mplify Ajax implementation.\n\nFollowing a brief introduction to Ajax 
 and jQuery, we will look at a sample Google Maps / Grails application.
  David will present three version of the application, each demonstrati
 ng an alternate and progressive approach to incorporating Ajax.\n\nYou
  will leave this presentation convinced that if you are developing web
  application with any JavaScript (or if you are not even using JavaScr
