 en-Shoshan\n\nThe University of Florida's existing home-grown, cookie-
 based authentication system (GLAuth) has security problems and must be
  replaced. In addition, the university needs to support federated auth
 entication services for interaction with contracted service providers.
  Shibboleth has been deployed at the university to replace GLAuth. Eli

 itiative project that has created an architecture and open-source impl
 ementation for federated identity-based authentication and authorizati
 on infrastructure based on Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML). 
 Federated identity allows for information about users in one security 
 domain to be provided to other organizations in a federation. This all
 ows for cross-domain single sign-on and removes the need for content p
 roviders to maintain user names and passwords. Identity providers (IdP
 s) supply user information, while service providers (SPs) consume this
