Wow, I must say that Ed's presentation last night was one of the best in the history of this group! Why? Ed recorded his interviews with the rock stars and played them as he went through the talk. Cool!

That meant we got to hear the voices of rock stars like James Gosling as they talked about what matters most to them in the software development world.

And, that's not all.

We had new faces, like:

 Mandela

Evan

Rafael

and Ramya

A good time was had by all. Meanwhile, Edson has volunteered to give a talk at next month's meeting. Here are the topics:

Take a look and help decide by voting on which is the best one to hear.

If you'd like to present or sponsor (thanks to Evan of TekSystems for last nights delicious pizza and bev!) just shoot me an email or PM me.

...Best,

Mike

That’s right! A repeat performance would be great!

Apparently the 2nd Thursday of the month is a big day for evening group meetings, so the attendance could have been better.  So, I'm very open to giving the talk again if it the opportunity arises.

Happy 10th year, JCertif!

JEP 474: Generational Mode Now Standard for ZGC in Java

JEP 474, ZGC: Generational Mode by Default, has also been targeted for JDK 23. This JEP proposes to use the Z Garbage Collector (ZGC) from non-generational to generational mode by default. The non-generational mode will be deprecated and removed in a future JDK release. This will reduce the cost of maintaining the two modes, so future development can primarily focus on Generational ZGC.
