The annual open source convention, simply known as Oscon, has come around for its 13th year and this year it features Oscon Java. Oscon is where developers, innovators, businesspeople, and investors come together to change everyday business practices and thinking. It's a technical conference that covers a range of open source, from Linux and MySQL to middleware and cloud computing as well as anything in between.

Oscon is designed to provide informative tutorials, activities, and events that will inspire and educate those who attend. So what's the best part? If you follow this registration setup you can get into the the Expo Hall, which features over 60 exhibitors, for a mere 25 dollars. A small price to pay to meet directly with vendors and businesspeople working directly with open source. There's a wide variety of things to see, do, and learn at Oscon and now that it has been paired with Java you can expect to find information on the rich code libraries of Java, alongside the innovation that comes from open source.

With a variety of differently priced packages you can go all out or take a peek at all that Oscon has to offer. Oscon is located in Portland, Oregon and runs from July 25 through the 29th, with Oscon Data and Java both ending on the 27th. I hope to hear from anyone who is thinking about attending and those who do attend.
